Isaiah 34

34:1 Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear; the world, and everything that comes from it.
34:2 For Yahweh is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them. He has given them over for slaughter.
34:3 Their slain will also be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies will come up; and the mountains will melt in their blood.
34:4 All of the army of the sky will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree.
34:5 For my sword has drunk its fill in the sky. Behold, it will come down on Edom, and on the people of my curse, for judgment.
34:6 Yahweh’s sword is filled with blood. It is covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
34:7 The wild oxen will come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land will be drunken with blood, and their dust made greasy with fat.
34:8 For Yahweh has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
34:9 Its streams will be turned into pitch, its dust into sulfur, And its land will become burning pitch.
34:10 It won’t be quenched night nor day. Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation, it will lie waste. No one will pass through it forever and ever.
34:11 But the pelican and the porcupine will possess it. The owl and the raven will dwell in it. He will stretch the line of confusion over it, and the plumb line of emptiness.
34:12 They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing.
34:13 Thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it will be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.
34:14 The wild animals of the desert will meet with the wolves, and the wild goat will cry to his fellow. Yes, the night creature shall settle there, and shall find herself a place of rest.
34:15 The arrow snake will make her nest there, and lay, hatch, and gather under her shade. Yes, the kites will be gathered there, every one with her mate.
34:16 Search in the book of Yahweh, and read: not one of these will be missing. none will lack her mate. For my mouth has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.
34:17 He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them with a measuring line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation they will dwell in it.

Psalm 91

91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
91:2 I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
91:3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.
91:4 He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.
91:5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;
91:6 nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.
91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.
91:8 You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.
91:9 Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,
91:10 no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.
91:11 For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
91:12 They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.
91:13 You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.
91:14 “Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.
91:15 He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
91:16 I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”

Ephesians 2:11-22

2:11 Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision,” (in the flesh, made by hands);
2:12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.
2:14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,
2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
2:16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility thereby.
2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.
2:18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
2:20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;
2:21 in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
2:22 in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
