Numbers 10

10:1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
10:2 “Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
10:3 When they blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
10:4 If they blow just one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves to you.
10:5 When you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall go forward.
10:6 When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall go forward. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
10:7 But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.
10:8 “The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. This shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations.
10:9 When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before Yahweh your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.
10:10 “Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.”
10:11 It happened in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.
10:12 The children of Israel went forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran.
10:13 They first went forward according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.
10:14 First, the standard of the camp of the children of Judah went forward according to their armies. Nahshon the son of Amminadab was over his army.
10:15 Nethanel the son of Zuar was over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar.
10:16 Eliab the son of Helon was over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun.
10:17 The tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the tabernacle, went forward.
10:18 The standard of the camp of Reuben went forward according to their armies. Elizur the son of Shedeur was over his army.
10:19 Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai was over the army of the tribe of the children of Simeon.
10:20 Eliasaph the son of Deuel was over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad.
10:21 The Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary. The others set up the tabernacle before they arrived.
10:22 The standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies. Elishama the son of Ammihud was over his army.
10:23 Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur was over the army of the tribe of the children of Manasseh.
10:24 Abidan the son of Gideoni was over the army of the tribe of the children of Benjamin.
10:25 The standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rear guard of all the camps, set forward according to their armies. Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai was over his army.
10:26 Pagiel the son of Ochran was over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher.
10:27 Ahira the son of Enan was over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali.
10:28 Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their armies; and they went forward.
10:29 Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.”
10:30 He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”
10:31 He said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.
10:32 It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Yahweh does to us, we will do the same to you.”
10:33 They set forward from the Mount of Yahweh three days’ journey. The ark of the covenant of Yahweh went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.
10:34 The cloud of Yahweh was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.
10:35 It happened, when the ark went forward, that Moses said, “Rise up, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate you flee before you!”
10:36 When it rested, he said, “Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.”

Psalm 85

85:1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land. You have restored the fortunes of Jacob.
85:2 You have forgiven the iniquity of your people. You have covered all their sin. Selah.
85:3 You have taken away all your wrath. You have turned from the fierceness of your anger.
85:4 Turn us, God of our salvation, and cause your indignation toward us to cease.
85:5 Will you be angry with us forever? Will you draw out your anger to all generations?
85:6 Won’t you revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
85:7 Show us your loving kindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.
85:8 I will hear what God, Yahweh, will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, his saints; but let them not turn again to folly.
85:9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
85:10 Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
85:11 Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven.
85:12 Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.
85:13 Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps.

Mark 14:43-65

14:43 Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
14:44 Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely.”
14:45 When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” and kissed him.
14:46 They laid their hands on him, and seized him.
14:47 But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
14:48 Jesus answered them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?
14:49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”
14:50 They all left him, and fled.
14:51 A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. The young men grabbed him,
14:52 but he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
14:53 They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him.
14:54 Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.
14:55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none.
14:56 For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn’t agree with each other.
14:57 Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying,
14:58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
14:59 Even so, their testimony did not agree.
14:60 The high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?”
14:61 But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
14:62 Jesus said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”
14:63 The high priest tore his clothes, and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?
14:64 You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” They all condemned him to be worthy of death.
14:65 Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, “Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.
