Job 25-26

25:1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
25:2 Dominion and fear are with him; He maketh peace in his high places.
25:3 Is there any number of his armies? And upon whom doth not his light arise?
25:4 How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
25:5 Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight:
25:6 How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a worm!
26:1 Then Job answered and said,
26:2 How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!
26:3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!
26:4 To whom hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?
26:5 They that are deceased tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.
26:6 Sheol is naked before God, And Abaddon hath no covering.
26:7 He stretcheth out the north over empty space, And hangeth the earth upon nothing.
26:8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; And the cloud is not rent under them.
26:9 He incloseth the face of his throne, And spreadeth his cloud upon it.
26:10 He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, Unto the confines of light and darkness.
26:11 The pillars of heaven tremble And are astonished at his rebuke.
26:12 He stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.
26:13 By his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.
26:14 Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?

Psalm 57

57:1 For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of David. Michtam; when he fled from Saul, in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me; For my soul taketh refuge in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge, Until these calamities be overpast.
57:2 I will cry unto God Most High, Unto God that performeth all things for me.
57:3 He will send from heaven, and save me, When he that would swallow me up reproacheth; [Selah God will send forth his lovingkindness and his truth.
57:4 My soul is among lions; I lie among them that are set on fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.
57:5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth.
57:6 They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down: They have digged a pit before me; They are fallen into the midst thereof themselves. [Selah
57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early.
57:9 I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples: I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
57:10 For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens, And thy truth unto the skies.
57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth.

1 Corinthians 10:1-22

10:1 For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
10:2 and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
10:3 and did all eat the same spiritual food;
10:4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.
10:5 Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
10:7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
10:9 Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.
10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
10:11 Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.
10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.
10:14 Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?
10:17 seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we are all partake of the one bread.
10:18 Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?
10:19 What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.
10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
10:22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
