Numbers 28

28:1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
28:2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My oblation, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a sweet savor unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.
28:3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto Jehovah: he-lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt-offering.
28:4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;
28:5 and the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil.
28:6 It is a continual burnt-offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.
28:7 And the drink-offering thereof shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou pour out a drink-offering of strong drink unto Jehovah.
28:8 And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meal-offering of the morning, and as the drink-offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.
28:9 And on the sabbath day two he-lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and the drink-offering thereof:
28:10 this is the burnt-offering of every sabbath, besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drinkoffering thereof.
28:11 And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt-offering unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, and one ram, seven he-lambs a year old without blemish;
28:12 and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, for each bullock; and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, for the one ram;
28:13 and a tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering unto every lamb; for a burnt-offering of a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.
28:14 And their drink-offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bullock, and the third part of a hin for the ram, and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb: this is the burnt-offering of every month throughout the months of the year.
28:15 And one he-goat for a sin-offering unto Jehovah; it shall be offered besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof.
28:16 And in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, is Jehovah’s passover.
28:17 And on the fifteenth day of this month shall be a feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.
28:18 In the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work;
28:19 but ye shall offer an offering made by fire, a burnt-offering unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven he-lambs a year old; they shall be unto you without blemish;
28:20 and their meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil: three tenth parts shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth parts for the ram;
28:21 a tenth part shalt thou offer for every lamb of the seven lambs;
28:22 and one he-goat for a sin-offering, to make atonement for you.
28:23 Ye shall offer these besides the burnt-offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt-offering.
28:24 After this manner ye shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah: it shall be offered besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof.
28:25 And on the seventh day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.
28:26 Also in the day of the first-fruits, when ye offer a new meal-offering unto Jehovah in your feast of weeks, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work;
28:27 but ye shall offer a burnt-offering for a sweet savor unto Jehovah: two young bullocks, one ram, seven he-lambs a year old;
28:28 and their meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil, three tenth parts for each bullock, two tenth parts for the one ram,
28:29 a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs;
28:30 one he-goat, to make atonement for you.
28:31 Besides the continual burnt-offering, and the meal-offering thereof, ye shall offer them (they shall be unto you without blemish), and their drink-offerings.

Psalm 94:12-23

94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;
94:13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit be digged for the wicked.
94:14 For Jehovah will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.
94:15 For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
94:17 Unless Jehovah had been my help, My soul had soon dwelt in silence.
94:18 When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.
94:20 Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?
94:21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.
94:22 But Jehovah hath been my high tower, And my God the rock of my refuge.
94:23 And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, And will cut them off in their own wickedness; Jehovah our God will cut them off.

Luke 3:1-20

3:1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cæsar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judæa, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituræa and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
3:2 in the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
3:3 And he came into all the region round about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins;
3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.
3:5 Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall become straight, And the rough ways smooth;
3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
3:7 He said therefore to the multitudes that went out to be baptized of him, Ye offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
3:9 And even now the axe also lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
3:10 And the multitudes asked him, saying, What then must we do?
3:11 And he answered and said unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise.
3:12 And there came also publicans to be baptized, and they said unto him, Teacher, what must we do?
3:13 And he said unto them, Extort no more than that which is appointed you.
3:14 And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse any one wrongfully; and be content with your wages.
3:15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ;
3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:
3:17 whose fan is in his hand, thoroughly to cleanse his threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.
3:18 With many other exhortations therefore preached he good tidings unto the people;
3:19 but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,
3:20 added this also to them all, that he shut up John in prison.
