Genesis 25

25:1 And Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.
25:2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
25:3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
25:4 And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
25:6 But unto the sons of the concubines, that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts; and he sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
25:7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, a hundred threescore and fifteen years.
25:8 And Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.
25:9 And Isaac and Ishmael his sons buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
25:10 the field which Abraham purchased of the children of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
25:11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac his son: and Isaac dwelt by Beer-lahairoi.
25:12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
25:13 and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
25:14 and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
25:15 Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
25:16 these are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments; twelve princes according to their nations.
25:17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died, and was gathered unto his people.
25:18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: he abode over against all his brethren.
25:19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
25:20 and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.
25:21 And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren: and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, wherefore do I live? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.
25:23 And Jehovah said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels: And the one people shall be stronger than the other people; And the elder shall serve the younger.
25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25:25 And the first came forth red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
25:26 And after that came forth his brother, and his hand had hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a skilful hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents.
25:28 Now Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: and Rebekah loved Jacob.
25:29 And Jacob boiled pottage: and Esau came in from the field, and he was faint:
25:30 and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me first thy birthright.
25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am about to die: and what profit shall the birthright do to me?
25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me first; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
25:34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: so Esau despised his birthright.

Psalm 22:1-18

22:1 For the Chief Musician; set to Aijeleth hash-Shahar. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
22:2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.
22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
22:4 Our fathers trusted in thee: They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
22:5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.
22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people.
22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
22:8 Commit thyself unto Jehovah; let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.
22:9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother’s breasts.
22:10 I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me.
22:11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help.
22:12 Many bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
22:13 They gape upon me with their mouth, As a ravening and a roaring lion.
22:14 I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.
22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
22:16 For dogs have compassed me: A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.
22:17 I may count all my bones. They look and stare upon me;
22:18 They part my garments among them, And upon my vesture do they cast lots.

Matthew 8:14-34

8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick of a fever.
8:15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and ministered unto him.
8:16 And when even was come, they brought unto him many possessed with demons: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick:
8:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.
8:18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
8:19 And there came a scribe, and said unto him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
8:21 And another of the disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
8:22 But Jesus saith unto him, Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
8:23 And when he was entered into a boat, his disciples followed him.
8:24 And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
8:25 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Save, Lord; we perish.
8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
8:27 And the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him two possessed with demons, coming forth out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man could pass by that way.
8:29 And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
8:30 Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.
8:31 And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.
8:32 And he said unto them, Go. And they came out, and went into the swine: and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea, and perished in the waters.
8:33 And they that fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to them that were possessed with demons.
8:34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart from their borders.
